There was a lot of snow this winter, and I’d been holed up in the house for a long time. But I saw a break in the weather and went out for a walk around Higashiyama. The usual scene felt a little different from usual, almost supernatural. The temperature was very low, so there weren’t many people out walking, and that made the scene even nicer. Before long I needed a hot meal, and I got a good one at Bistro Ryomon. It was the onion gratin soup.
