In the middle of the Showa era, Meiji Park in Tokyo’s Jingu Gaien area was a neighborhood playground. On weekends it was full of kids, mostly playing ball. In one corner of the park there was a small hotdog wagon, and one hotdog cost 100 yen, a real luxury item. Remember, this was back when・・・
Excellent rice is harvested in the mountains around here. I usually go to the Agricultural Co-op in Kanazawa to buy a brand of koshihikari rice called “Taki-no-sei” (Spirit of the Waterfall), but once in a while I stop by the Roadside Station Kibagata in Komatsu. The reason is another brand of especially good koshihikari rice・・・
